Barbara Bush spoke at our school yesterday. At one point she stated, "Everybody wants to save the world, but nobody wants to do the dishes." How true. There are many people (probably most people) want something to change, and though they may have ideas on how to accomplish the change very few take the necessary steps of action and most of the time only the talk of it ever happens. There seem to be very few "do-ers"--including myself.
Aren't do-ers the ones who change the world? Who can see the problem, solution, and action? Who DO things? I'd like to become a do-er, Barbara....but how do I do that?
At the end of her speech, a few people asked questions. One person asked a question about how to be successful. Babs replied with the typical answers: be honest, work hard, etc. Then after applause ended she added, "Or, you could just marry well."

So, Alicia comes home telling me that the little guy who bought my jacket went home that night and did research on it, to find out where it came from and when. It turns out that Disney Channel was trying to raise support for the station, and if you donated over $1,000 they gave you the jacket as a gift. There are less than 200 of them in the world and it's worth over $300 now. I still came out way on top for receiving $20 for it, considering I bought it for roughly 60 cents, but really--$300? He reassured her that he wasn't going to sell it because he was going to wear it on his wedding day. He also sleeps in it at night now. At least he's happy.

Theres 11 people in the class. It's small, and that's what makes it so fun. We had our last quiz on monday (100!!) :D. And our final is on wednesday.
