Nature's homeboy, John Muir.
So, his first summer in the Sierra has been filled with a large herd of sheep and pines of every variety. God love him, but this man describes plants down to the chloraphyll. He does speak of interesting things (no offense chlora!), such as how squirrels get the seeds from pinecones, the lonely lives of a shepherds, and stories of his friends (one of whom was famous for shooting bears; technique included). Everything in between is descriptions of shrubbery and grasslands. I am so intruigued by how a person could write so eloquently and detailed about...anything, really. So intrigued, that I shall continue reading...
No close calls yet.
