Today was my first day back at Vista! The warm community there is such a blessing to be able to be a part of...it's just one of those places where you always feel at home.
We had a guest pastor today who talked about Nehemiah and his desperate prayer to God, calling to God 27 times, on behalf of the depraved people living around him. He saw their destitution, he saw his 'safe' life, and he saw that in order to glorify God those two things couldn't co-exist. Nehemiah instead chose to leave his comfortable life and face the uncomfortable problems of the community head-on, meeting people where they were.
It was the brokenness of the people.
It was the brokenness of himself.
May our lives be built around ushering in God's kingdom.
